Meet the Judge

Marina writes: "My family did not have dogs until, still in primary school, I was of a reasonable age to look after a puppy myself, when my Mum gave in to my nagging and let me have a fox terrier puppy. My choice of breed was influenced by the Jerome K Jerome novel Three Men in a Boat and the fabulous Montmorency. After that we always had dogs.

I got my first Border Terrier in 2016, and, although I was not thinking of serious showing, he won Best Puppy in Show at his first open show at only 7 months, after that I was hooked! He had a successful show career, and it was a dream come true when I handled him to his Champion title.

Border Terriers as a breed quickly became my favourite due to their remarkable smart mind and loyal happy personality. I have been very lucky to be trusted with three quality border terrier puppies by their breeders over the years and my time in the ring with them was always enjoyable. More recently, my homebred girl has achieved her Stud Book Number, subject to KC confirmation, which will be my third."

I am very excited to judge my favourite breed at the Southern Border Terrier Club and thank the committee for this opportunity.
